Mr. Bentz is President of Transplace Supply Chain Consulting. His expertise is in transportation strategy and operations, out-sourcing, 3rd-party logistics and private fleet management as well as strategic transportation procurement and network optimization. Mr. Bentz has extensive expertise in the transportation industry during a career spanning 40 years.
Prior to joining Transplace he spent 21 years with Andersen Consulting/Accenture, where he was a Managing Director in Supply Chain Management, responsible for Supply Chain Transportation globally. He also served as a Vice President of Intermodal for Burlington Northern Railroad, where he developed BN America, the company’s domestic container operation. He was President and CEO of Ameritrans Corporation, the 3PL subsidiary of IU International. He was also CEO of Trans-Star Trucking, a regional LTL/TL motor carrier. Prior to that he was General Manager-Intermodal, for Boston & Maine Railroad, and founder, as well as COO of BMX, B&M’s motor carrier subsidiary. He is an Adjunct Professor of Supply Chain in the graduate transportation program at the University of Denver and a member of the board of directors.

Mr. Bentz works with shippers and carriers in the areas of transportation strategy, processes and execution, 3rd-party logistics, out-sourcing, building stronger and better collaboration and relationships between supply chain partners, standardizing and simplifying supply chain processes, fleet management, transportation operations, Best Practices and enabling technologies.

Jeremy Becker is a Senior Manager at Transplace Supply Chain Consulting. Jeremy’s experience is in Sourcing & Procurement, Spend Analysis, Organizational Development and Business Development. 

Prior to joining Transplace Jeremy spent 12 years with CombineNet (now SciQuest), where he was a Vice President of Business Development, responsible for the recruitment, and support of Sourcing & Procurement practices with large Management Consulting firms and Logistic Service Providers. Jeremy also served as a Vice President of Professional Services, where he managed and delivered sourcing services. Early in his time at CombineNet Jeremy managed Strategic Sourcing efforts for Global 1000 clients in the areas of Transportation, Packaging and MRO. Before joining CombineNet, Jeremy worked in the technology space selling and managing large IT implementations.

Jeremy works with shippers, carriers and suppliers in transportation strategy, sourcing, data analysis and process & technology improvement with the aim of driving cost and inefficiency out of supply chains and improving decision processes.

Mr. Fata is a Sr. Manager in Transplace’s Supply Chain Consulting Practice. Mr. Fata has worked for over 15 years helping shippers and carriers optimize their transportation and distribution flows. By facilitating Strategic Transportation Procurement programs for his clients, Mr. Fata has become a deep expert in the realm of freight optimization and network strategy.
Prior to joining Transplace, Scott was a member of the Logistics and Distribution practices at both Accenture and Deloitte, LLP for approximately 16 years. During his tenure at Accenture, Scott helped develop the Strategic Transportation Optimization offering, which included Network Analysis, Freight Procurement, and Inbound Vendor Conversion. This offering was fundamental in helping clients to achieve cost reductions and improved service to their customers.
